Equality Statement
SAIL ACADEMY EQUALITY OBJECTIVES
Equality Objective 1
To ensure that all staff and governors are fully aware of our equality policy and associated practices.
We have chosen this objective because:
Our Trust has a large proportion of new and recently appointed staff.
To achieve this objective we plan to:
Train all members of staff and governors in equality legislation and our policy and practices. Training evaluation data will show that 100% of those attending have a good understanding of the equality policy and practice.
Equality Objective 2
To ensure that all recruitment procedures are fully compliant with our equality policy and practices.
We have chosen this objective because:
SAIL are committed to safeguarding equality within the recruitment process.
To achieve this objective we plan to:
Train all members of staff and governors involved in recruitment and selection on equal opportunities and non-discrimination by the beginning of the next academic year. To examine current recruitment practice with a critical eye around equality. Identify any potential barriers to ensuring equality in the recruitment process. Formulate plans to eradicate any such barriers
Equality Objective 3
To help address the under-representation of people with disabilities in our workforce.
We have chosen this objective because:
SAIL are committed to safeguarding equality within the recruitment process.
To achieve this objective we plan to:
Include the 'Two Ticks' positive about people with disabilities symbol on all job adverts, application forms and information by September of this year.
