English at New Park

At New Park Primary School, we believe that literacy and communication are key life skills that open up a world of opportunity for our children. Therefore, we believe that it is our role as educators to provide our children with this key to the world, through our broad and rich curriculum. We aim high for all our children and intend to develop the skills and knowledge that will enable them to communicate effectively and creatively within the world at large. We want our children to see no limits to what they can achieve within and beyond the classroom. Through a love of reading that is shared across our school, we strive to ensure all children enjoy and appreciate literature and its rich variety. We intend to equip all pupils with a strong command of the spoken and written word, and to develop their love of literature through widespread reading for enjoyment.
