Year 6 - Mr Willis: Class Page for Work and Activities

Hello 6W

I hope everyone is enjoying their time at home, having fun and doing lots of activities. I understand that this is a strange and confusing time for you all but the way everyone from Year 6 handled the few days leading to us closing, with maturity, patience and showing great attitudes, was a delight for me and made me feel very proud!

Parents/carers please don't be worried about 'teaching' your children. They have worked so hard this year; making amazing progress!

Please keep an eye on this page and our twitter page @Mr_Willis__ as I will update them both regularly with lots of fun activities for you to complete whilst you are at home! Also look out for a weekly catch up with New Park News on Mrs Haake's twitter @MrsHaake6.

During such uncertain times, children might be finding it difficult to adjust to new routines at home, a timetable could help with this. Below are a few ideas you could use or even better you could make your own:

Children also respond well to timed activities, it helps them with the expectations of a task and the time frame. For example, you have 5 mins to tidy up and wash your hands/answer questions 1 to 5. If children can visually see the time, this can help them to respond to the request/activity. This could be using a clock or timer on your phone.

Daily exercise will help you to burn some of your energy; PE with Joe Wicks or Dance with Oti can help with this
