Hello!
Welcome to Year 2 ~ a year where we have lots of fun, go on many school trips and knuckle down to hard work! So far this year we have been to Underwater Street, Build a Bear, New Liverpool Museum and Frankie and Benny's. These trips are all linked to the curriculum for Year 2.
Spring Term (Healthy Eating & Animals/Plants)
The Spring Term is the most important term as we consolidate all learning so that children are ready for their SATs (May). SAT Tests consist of Maths, Reading, Reading Comprehension and Writing, including spellings. We will be preparing children for their SATs in April-May.
Messy Mornings
Once a term, parents are invited in to school to work collaboratively with their child to 'make' something. This could be from a mask, to a sandwich, to a crown! Children look forward to these mornings/afternoons and it would be great to see you! They usually last for about an hour ~ drinks and biscuits are provided.
Homework & Spellings
Homework and spellings are given out every Friday, to be handed in on Monday. Spellings tests are done every Friday afternoon. It is important that homework is done, independently as this usually consolidates work that has been done during the week.
PE
Full PE kits are to be brought in every Wednesday (outdoor) and Thursday (indoor). PE kits can be left on your child's peg and brought home at half term for washing!
