Swimming
Swimming lessons take place on a Monday morning. We leave promptly at 9am so, we ask you to make sure children are in school by 8.45am and that they come in the main entrance.
The children must bring with them:
Boys: Swimming shorts, a towel and a swimming cap.
Girls: Swimming costume, a towel and a swimming cap.
P.E
During the Autumn term we are lucky enough to have Liverpool FC Football coaching on Tuesday and Thursdays. This takes place in Anfield Sports centre and we leave on our school minibus, getting back for hometime. Children must wear black shorts/jogging bottoms, a white t-shirt and black pumps and remember to bring their P.E Kits.
Daily Homework
Reading. It is so important for your child to read a few pages each night as this has a huge effect on their confidence and progress in all other areas. Where possible, please ensure that your child's reading record is signed on a daily basis as they will be rewarded with dojos for this. We allow children in Year 6 to sign their own reading diaries if nobody at home can do so.
Weekly homework
Spellings - On a Tuesday, the children will be given words ranging from the year 5/6 expected words list and words to assist the learning of general spelling rules. They will be tested the following Tuesday. Please practise as much as you can at home with them.
Times Tables - It is vital that the children know their times tables as these impact on everything we do within lessons involving maths. Please ensure that your child practices their times tables regularly, as they will be tested on these twice a week.
Autumn 1 topic:
This term our topic is Behind Enemy Lines. Our central theme is based around World War II and Letters From the Lighthouse will be one of our class novels. Please see our Topic Web for more details.
