Swimming lessons take place on a Monday morning, the children must bring with them:
Boys: Swimming shorts, a towel and a swimming cap.
Girls: Swimming costume, a towel and a swimming cap.
During the Autumn term we are lucky enough to be participating in Basket Ball lessons with Mersey Mavericks. Our P.E lessons are on a Monday afternoon and children must wear black shorts/jogging bottoms, a white t-shirt and black pumps.
Daily homework: Reading. It is so important for your child to read a few pages each night as this has a huge effect on their confidence and progress in all other areas. Where possible, please ensure that your child's reading record is signed on a daily basis as they will be rewarded with dojos for this !
Weekly homework: Spellings - On a Tuesday, the children will be given between 10-12 words ranging from the year 5/6 expected words list and words to assist the learning of general spelling rules, they will be tested on these the following Tuesday.
X Tables - It is vital that the children know their times tables, as these impact on everything we do within lessons involving maths. Please ensure that your child practices their times tables regularly, as they will be tested on these every Friday.
Project based homework: The children will be given homework based on our topic, this homework will range between a written or art-based project.
Dates for your Diary:
- Friday 17th November: Maths morning with Families
- Tuesday 28th November: Trip to Croxteth Park
