Hello there and welcome to 3E's class page!
I can't believe it! It's gone so fast. Only half a term to go before we move to Year 4!
Meet the Team
We're so lucky in Year 3 because we have four members of staff ready to help us on our learning journey. In charge of 3E is the wonderful Mrs Ellis who is assisted by Mrs Lang. Just along the corridor is 3T whose team leader is the awesome Mr Trussell. He is assisted by Mrs Duffy. All these people are here to help, so if you have any problems, concerns or questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
The Week in Words
Although each week will be different, there are somethings that will remain constant throughout the year.
We expect every child to read with an adult for at least 5 minutes a night (although longer would be better) and for the adult to sign the Reading Record to show that they have. This is such an important part of every child's development and is one that you can directly be a part of.
PE will be on Mondays and Tuesdays. It is important that all children take part in these sessions so they will need to have a kit in on both these days. It's Summer so we'll be outside for the majority of sessions so please dollop on that sunscreen and please, please, PLEASE make sure to bring pumps or trainers!
Each week there will be 4 pieces of homework given out.
There will be:
Homewriting - this will consist of a short writing task. This will be given out on a Friday and is expected in the following Wednesday.
Maths - this will usually be set on something that has been taught in class during the week. This will be given out on a Friday and should be returned by the following Wednesday.
Spellings - 10-15 words will be given out on a Friday and will be tested the following Friday.
Times-Tables - will be given out on a Friday and tested the following Friday. These test sheets will be sent home so that you can further help your children. For further help with times-tables, please see the bottom of this page for some links and files you can use.
In Year 3, we try and provide your child with a well rounded education and will be teaching the following during the Summer term.
