Chester Zoo Trip- Wednesday 5th July!

What a busy year we have had in Reception! We have had so much fun learning about different festivals, space, traditional tales and animals which is our newest topic. We have enjoyed trips to Pizza Express and the library and as we are coming to the end of our time in the early years, we'll be planning lots more fun before the summer holidays! Please keep encouraging your child with their reading, writing and mathematics skills at home and also making use of the fantastic local community library right here in Kensington. Next week is International Sports Week and we are looking forward to keeping healthy and learningabout lots of new games!  We thank each and every parent this year for supporting our cookery activities, messy afternoons and stay and play sessions. It's been fabulous that you have been a part of  your child's learning journey this year. Thank you again from Miss McFarlane, Mrs Brooks, Miss Weston, Mrs Crowe, Mrs Cushion and Mrs Erickson ❤️

Hello and welcome to our Reception page!

In Reception RMc these are our staff:

Miss McFarlane- Class Teacher

Mrs Cushion- Teaching Assistant

Mrs Davies- Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Miss Yates- Teaching Assistant

In Reception the children have a daily literacy, mathematics and letters and sounds session which focus on developing key language, reading, writing and mathematical skills. We also follow the children's interests through topics and children have daily access to both the indoor and outdoor areas. We support the value of outdoor learning in enriching the children's experiences of the world around them.

P.E-  This takes place every Thursday.

Homework- This will be given out each Friday.

We also use trips and visits to enhance our topics and areas of interest throughout the year.

We hear the children read regularly and we kindly ask that you bring in your child's book bag every day.

Snack- We kindly ask for £1 per week  to contribute to the children's daily snack and weekly cookery activity.
