The staff in the nursery consist of a nursery teacher, Miss Lloyd and two nursery nurses, Miss Clements and Mrs Roberts. At New Park we have a morning and afternoon nursery session. The times are 8.45 - 11.45am for children attending the morning session and 12.30-3.30pm for children attending the afternoon session. We can cater for twenty six children during each session. We also have eight wrap round places - for more information about wrap around care please see Mrs White at the main reception.
In the nursery we cover the six areas of development. These are Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Communication, Language and Literacy, Problem Solving Reasoning and Number, Knowledge and Understanding, Physical Development and Creative Development.
The children learn through child initiated and adult planned activities which helps them to develop their knowledge and independence.
The children in the nursery are able to access continuous outdoor provision.

Each child will take home a Wild About Reading book on a Friday to share with an adult at home and returned on a Monday. Encourage your child to discuss the front cover, characters, settings, endings, and favourite parts of the story.
During the Spring term children will take home a Letters and Sounds book. This is to reinforce Letters and Sound work completed during daily sessions. Parents should encourage children to learn both the letter names and letter sounds. There will be a sound of the week and children are asked to bring in an object beginning with the same sound to display on our sound table.
If you have any worries or concerns please do not hesitate to speak to a member of staff. If staff have any worries or concerns about your child we will always speak to you and keep you informed of the progress your child is making and their achievements.
