Parental Forest School Workshop

Parental Forest School Workshop 18.11.14😊🌳
This week we held a parental workshop for Forest School. We had a campfire and used the story of Stickman by Julia Donaldson as a focus to make stickmen using natural materials. We will meet again soon with children to complete a variety of activities based on the forest school ethos. If you are interested in joining our group please see Miss McFarlane. We have fun in a relaxed setting and have refreshments in each session so please come along and see what we do. 🌳😊

This leaf face was created by 1E; fantastic work!
Staff worked hard after school to create these leaf faces using ideas based on the forest school approach.  This week the children will be creating faces of staff using a selection of natural materials. Keep a look out for them on here! πŸŒ³πŸŒΏπŸŒ²πŸƒ

At New Park the children will have the chance to be involved in the promotion of outdoor learning. The Forest School ethos revolves around the children developing life skills that will enrich their literacy, maths, personal, social and emotional skills along with gaining an understanding of the world in which we live. The children learn simple cookery skills through campfires and also problem solve through activities such as den making and working with tools.  Forest School is based on the successful teaching styles used in Europe and sessions can be run at school or off site in  a local woodland.
