At New Park Primary, the safety and well-being of every child in our community is our highest priority and an absolute, non-negotiable commitment. We fully embrace the collective responsibility we share with parents, carers, and the wider community to safeguard the children under our care. Our approach is collaborative, proactive, and deeply rooted in creating a secure environment where every child feels safe, protected, and empowered.

Through a thoughtfully designed and comprehensive programme encompassing engaging lessons, inspiring assemblies, and enriching educational visits, we equip our pupils with vital knowledge and understanding. This empowers them to confidently identify how to keep themselves safe and to actively support their own physical and mental health. We ensure that every child knows they have ready access to a trusted adult within our school for guidance or support, and we foster the confidence and communication skills necessary for them to always seek assistance when needed.

We have a dedicated and highly trained member of our leadership team who serves as our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), specifically responsible for all safeguarding matters. They are readily available to offer expert advice and support. Should you ever have any concerns about a child's safety or well-being, we strongly encourage you to contact us immediately. We welcome all concerns, regardless of their nature or perceived severity, and assure you that every concern will be addressed with the utmost seriousness, sensitivity, and appropriateness to ensure every child can lead a life free from harm or fear.

For non-urgent safeguarding matters, please reach us via email at safeguarding@newparkprimary.com.

In the case of an immediate emergency where a child is at risk, please call 999 without hesitation.
