Oh my word! Summer is here already and we're nearly at an end of our journey together. Tests are done and everyone has tried their very best. Fantastic work all of you.
Hello there and welcome to 3E's class page!
It has been an amazing year, but we're not quite done yet.
Meet the Team
We're so lucky in Year 3 because we have five members of staff ready to help us on our learning journey. In charge of 3E is the awesome Mrs Ellis assisted by the amazing Miss Erickson and Miss Griffiths. Just along the corridor is 3T, whose team leader is the wonderful Mr Trussell. He is assisted by the brilliant Mrs McShane. All these people are here to help, so if you have any problems, concerns or questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
The Week in Words
Although each week will be different, there are somethings that will remain constant throughout the year.
We expect every child to read with an adult for at least 5 minutes a night (although longer would be better) and for the adult to sign the Reading Record to show that they have. This is such an important part of every child's development and is one that you can directly be a part of.
PE will be on Mondays and Tuesdays. It is important that all children take part in these sessions so they will need to have a kit in on both these days. It's coming up to winter but we still try and get out as often as we can so we are more than happy for tracksuits to be worn and please, please, PLEASE make sure to bring pumps or trainers!
Each week there will be 4 pieces of homework given out.
There will be:
Homewriting - this will consist of a short writing task. This will be given out on a Friday and is expected in the following Wednesday.
Maths - this will usually be set on something that has been taught in class during the week. This will be given out on a Friday and should be returned by the following Wednesday.
Spellings - 10-15 words will be given out on a Friday and will be tested the following Friday.
Times-Tables - will be given out on a Friday and tested the following Friday. These test sheets will be sent home so that you can further help your children. For further help with times-tables, please see the bottom of this page for some links and files you can use.
In Year 3, we try and provide your child with a well rounded education and will be teaching the following during the Summer term.
French - Greetings, Numbers, Colours and animals
History - The Vikings
RE - Inspirational Figures
PSHE - TRights and Responsibilities
Science - Forces and Magnets

In Autumn had our first couple of little jaunts: one to the Celts and one around the local area. We've had a wonderful visit from two Roman soldiers and an amazing workshop in an art museum. The annual trip to Chester Zoo will be on the 3rd of July so don't forget to lather up in suncream.
