NURSERY DAY

During each session, there will be a wide range of exciting activities supported by adults for your child to access. There will be a welcome to the day, stories, songs, maths activities and  lots of opportunities to develop early language skills. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum and plan activities to suit everybody’s interests. We play outdoors each day in lots of weathers .

CLOTHING/ UNIFORM

Please label every piece of your child’s clothing so that these can be easily found. We kindly ask that children wear shoes with Velcro to encourage independence whilst at school. Nursery is a very practical place with activities such as painting and gluing so please be understanding about this. We will make every effort to keep your child’s clothing tidy by using aprons.

SNACK/COOKING

We kindly ask for £1 each Monday for our weekly cooking activity and a healthy snack for the children each day.

SCHOOL TRIPS

The children really enjoy our visits to a variety of places including visits to Farmer Teds, the museums and Chester Zoo.

ILLNESS

If your child is unwell please call school to let us know. If they are suffering from diarrhoea or vomiting they are not allowed back to nursery until 48 hours has passed from after their last episode of vomiting and diarrhea.

If somebody other than yourself will be collecting your child it is extremely important to let us know. Please call school or speak to a staff member at the start of the session. If you are running late, please call the school office on 0151 263 4447.

Summer Term 2017

TOPICS

In nursery this term we will be covering the following topics:

Summer 1

Spring and Superheroes

Summer 2

Summer and Minibeasts

We will also be following the interests of the children in nursery so the topics may change.

Last week we had our New Park Bake Off and we would like to thank the parents for their amazing cakes. They tasted delicious......yum yum.

We also had an amazing 2nd Birthday Party. We played on the bouncy castles and ate scrummy ice cream. It was a fab day. You will be able to see pictures of it in your child's Learning Journey books.

Next week 26th June, it will be International Sport and Health Week in school and nursery will be taking an active part. We will be starting the sessions with a GoNoodles activity. We are all excited to take part.

On the 7th July all nursery children will be going on our Chester Zoo trip. Last year it was a great success and the children really enjoyed themselves especially the ice cream at the end. Please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather. Sun hats and caps if it is sunny, shoes and coats with a hood if it is going to rain.Children need to wear their school uniform top and jumper /cardigan. They can wear jogging pants, jeans or leggings.

If your child suffers from travel sickness please inform the nursery staff.
